For those interested in seeing some great examples of how to use Ableton Live in conjunction with hardware MIDI controllers within a performance context, I have curated this YouTube playlist.

You can loosely categorize these into 3 types of ways of performing.

1. Realtime playing of virtual instruments/drum racks via MIDI controllers and pad controllers
2. Clip-Launching of MIDI and AUDIO clips within Session view via grid-based controllers like Push
3. Live Looping of MIDI and Audio to build up a work in realtime.
