Ableton Extensions -Arcade Games

The following Ableton Extensions were created using open source MIT licensed JavaScript files available by EJINEROZ on github:

They are really just a bit of fun and allow you to play retro games within Ableton Live and output the ‘game results’ as MIDI notes within a MIDI Clip.

Space Invaders

The Space Invaders Ableton Extension lets you play Space invaders. Once your turn ends, any remaining aliens on screen become MIDI notes in a 1-bar, 16 step sequence.

The MIDI notes and optimized to be used with a Drum Rack Instrument.

Use the Z and X keys to curve your lazers!

PacMan

The PacMan Ableton Extension generates MIDI notes dependent on what colour ghost you eat and when you eat them. It picks from 5 notes in C major Pentatonic, with pitch defined by where in the game you eat the ghost. This works nicely for making semi-random ambient melodies.

Note, these Ableton Extension files were created using version 1.0.0 of the Ableton Extensions SDK and works with Live 12.4.5 b3. It is intended for non-commercial, educational and personal usage.
